Each year, Limerick Sports Partnership deliver a 6-8 week walk to run programme leading into the Womens Mini Marathon. This programme is targeted towards women who would like to start jogging and need the motivation and assistance to take part in the Mini Marathon.
Participants will need to take part in at least three sessions a week. One of these sessions is led by a Limerick Sports Partnership staff member or tutor and the others are completed on your own. Sessions last between 30minutes – 1 hour. Each week, participants will receive a programme outlining the distances and times they must complete on their own during the week. Throughout the programme participants will learn running and breathing techniques, how to manage your training pace and how to warm up and cool down safely and effectively.
All you need to take part is some suitable footwear and water.
