Women in Sport Week 2025

Women in Sport (WIS) week is taking place March 3^rd – 9^th!
 

The aims of Women in Sport Week are:

• To promote and highlight the ongoing work of Sport Ireland, NGBs, LSPs and other stakeholders and funded bodies, under the topic of Women in Sport.
• To celebrate every woman and girl who plays, coaches, officiates, volunteers, works in and leads out on WIS.
• To encourage and remind men and boys to be allies for women in sport.

This year’s themes for Women in Sport Week are as follows:

• Monday 3rd – Visibility
• Tuesday 4th – Coaching
• Wednesday 5th – Teenage Girl Participation
• Thursday 6th – Officiating
• Friday 7th – Leadership and Governance
• Saturday 8th – International Women’s Day / Parkrun & Women in Sport
• Sunday 9th – Active Participation

Limerick Sports Partnership has a number of Women in Sport programmes running throughout the year. To celebrate Women in Sport Week, we have also teamed up with a number of clubs and groups to put on taster sessions in different venues around Limerick city and county, for women and girls to try out new physical activities in fun, social settings!

We encourage Limerick sports clubs to get involved and celebrate all women involved in sport. If your club has something on for Women in Sport week, please let us know and we can promote it for you!
