The “Sports Talk” programme is an initiative combining exercise for the body through the medium of sport, and exercise for the mind with facilitated group workshops on topics such as Bullying, Suicide Awareness, Stress and Anxiety to name but a few. Numerous studies have shown that individuals who exercise regularly have better memories, better reaction times and better levels of concentration than non-exercisers and that individuals who exercise regularly feel better about themselves than sedentary individuals.
Group Workshops will be facilitated by our partners in Resolve Counselling Ltd and there will also be an after-care discounted counselling service available to all participants in the course. Physical Activity Sessions will be delivered by tutors from the Limerick Sports Partnership tutor panel. The physical activity plan will be developed in conjunction with the selected organisation ensuring that we can meet the needs and abilities of your young people. The many benefits gained from the Sports Talk Programme offer life-long coping skills to every individual which they can take with them into the future. These coping skills may support the individual in every future circumstance at home, at work, in relationships with family and friends.
The SportsTalk programme is aimed at secondary school aged students, male, female or mixed.
