The Sports Club Development and Participation Support Grant will provide funding to support clubs to further provide sports and physical activity opportunities with their communities.
The scheme will have 4 pillars: Women In Sport, Sport Equipment, Coach Education & Volunteer Recruiment.
*If the club application is successful, the grant allocation will be €1500 per club.
Applications close on Monday 27th April 2026.
Limerick based Sports Clubs, whose national governing body is recognised by Sport Ireland & who deliver sport and physical activity opportunities in their local communities.
Schools, Community Centres, Commerical Organisations & individuals are NOT eligible to apply.
The Sports Club Development Support Grant is designed to strengthen and sustain grassroots sports clubs by investing in key areas of development. The scheme supports initiatives that promote the participation and visibility of women and girls in sport, enhance club capacity through the provision of essential sports equipment, and improve the quality of coaching through education and training. It also aims to build stronger club structures by supporting the recruitment and retention of volunteers, ensuring clubs are well-equipped to grow, thrive, and serve their communities into the future.

Applications are being accepted through an on-line application form. The form can be accessed by the button marked ‘APPLY FOR GRANT’ below.
The online form must be filled out in one attempt, there is no facility to save the form and return to it later. All questions included are listed below so applicants should have all information ready and at hand prior to completing the application form.

All applications will be evaluated by Limerick Sports Partnership to determine if they meet the eligibility requirements of this grant programme.
Applications will be reviewed on the merit of the information and documentation provided in the application submitted. Canvassing will result in disqualification from the scheme.
*Successful applicants will receive an initial payment of €1,200. The remaining €300 will be released upon submission of appropriate proof that the funded activity or purchase has been completed in line with the grant conditions
