Older Adult Aquatics

The Limerick Sports Partnership offer a range of aquatic activities for males and females 55+. This is to help encourage and motivate people to increase their physical activity levels. Water based exercise sessions are suited to all levels and abilities and offer a variety of physical and social benefits including:

  • Helps to improve balance and coordination.
  • Aid rehabilitation, as water provides buoyance and reduces movement impact on muscles and joints.
  • Easy on muscles and joints, thus reducing risk of injuries.
  • Assist with weight loss and improved metabolism.
  • Improves Strength.
  • Easing of pain from chronic conditions such arthritis and other chronic joint and muscle conditions.
  • A great way to meet other people and socialise.
