Healthy Limerick Co-Ordinator

Limerick City & County Council, in partnership with the Health Service Executive, is establishing a panel for the position of Healthy Limerick Co-Ordinator for a two year contract period.

The Position

Healthy Limerick is based on the concept of Healthy Cities/Communities which aims to promote a comprehensive and whole system approach to planning for health and wellbeing.

The Healthy Limerick Co-ordinator will work on delivering the key goals and priorities from local and national strategies and health profiles, which have a key role to play in improving the Health and Wellbeing of Limerick people. The first of these documents is Healthy Ireland which has four key goals:

  • Increase the proportion of people who are healthy at all stages of life  
  • Reduce health inequalities 
  • Protect the public from threats to health and wellbeing 
  • Create an environment where every individual and sector of society can play their part in achieving a Healthy Ireland

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to implement the goals of Healthy Ireland and the key health and wellness aims of Limerick City & County Council Corporate plan for Limerick City and County (which is based on the National Policy document ‘Putting People First’), This will be done under the guidance of the Local Community Development Committees (LCDC) & HSE Service Plan and HSE CHO 3 Service and Operation Plan.  The delivery of the Healthy Limerick programme is consistent with national policy “Putting People First” in the provision of all services to our communities and citizens. 

Rate of Pay:            

€44,849 per annum

Hours of Work:

37 hours per week

Annual Leave:        

30 days per annum
