The assistant swim teacher course educates participants to teach children and adults the skills and techniques involved in swimming. The course covers areas such as:

• Water confidence
• Front crawl/ Back crawl techniques
• Breaststroke/ Butterfly techniques
• Diving
• Side stroke
• Developing sessions plans and completing lesson plans

Open to all over the age of 16yrs—participants must have a good knowledge of all swim strokes and be able to swim at least 50 meters without stopping.

The course delivery will be a mixture of online and in person lessons. There will be an online element to complete in advance of the sessions in UL:

Monday, 3rd April 09:00-16:00 (UL Sport Arena)
Tuesday, 4th April 09:00-16:00 (UL Sport Arena)
Wednesday 5th April 09:00-16:00 (UL Sport Arena)

This course is led and certified by the Irish Water Safety.
