Training Programme

Do you sit at a desk for long periods throughout the day?

Desk to 5km is a 6 week ‘Couch to 5km’ style beginner training programme aimed at anyone who would like to increase their physical activity levels to progress from walking/jogging 3km, to completing 5km at the end of the 6 weeks. Desk to 5km takes place in various locations every Spring in the lead up to the Great Limerick Run

  • Leaders present at every session for support & motivation
  • Train as part of a group, but participate at your own pace
  • Weekly training plan & routes
  • Advice & Tips on Nutrition, Hydration, Stretching & Exercises to do at your desk
  • Information on other 5km/Events/Walking Routes & upcoming physical activity events across Limerick city & county
  • Links with parkrun, walking/jogging/running groups & athletics clubs in Limerick
  • Desk to 5km programmes can also be facilitated throughout with a specific group/company/organisation. In-house programmes are subject to staff availability & a minimal cost.
