To highlight the importance of including 30 minutes of physical activity every day the Limerick Sports Partnership has created a 46-day challenge where staff and members of the public get involved in some form of physical activity for 30 minutes every day during lent. We use the tag line:
instead of giving up something for lent why don’t you take on a healthy challenge
The Challenge involves being physically active for 30 minutes every day from Ash Wednesday until Easter Saturday. To help motivate others to get active we encourage you to share your experience through social media. This challenge will not only improve your fitness and health but will inspire others to get active too.
There are many ways to get active including walking, cycling, exercise classes, games, sports, dancing, swimming, gardening etc. So why not take this opportunity to try different activities and improve your physical and mental health.
